How much does it cost to build a custom Shopify app?

What is the difference between a custom app and a public app?

A custom (private) app is installed only on your store and is built around your process. A public app is listed on the Shopify App Store and installed by many merchants, so it needs billing, onboarding and Shopify’s app review.

Do I need a custom app, or will an App Store app do?

If an existing app does 90% of what you need, use it. We’ll tell you on the first call. Custom work pays off when the feature is central to how you sell, or when you’re paying for several apps to do one job.

Who owns the code?

You do. When the project is paid, the code, the app and its listing belong to you.

Can you get my app approved for the Shopify App Store?
